Saving the Tooth Can Be Better Than Removing It

Root canal treatment is used when the nerve inside a tooth becomes inflamed or infected. Treating the source of the problem can relieve symptoms, stop the infection from progressing, and help preserve the natural tooth.

1.

Treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside the tooth.

2.

Saving the natural tooth helps maintain normal chewing function and bite balance.

3.

Prompt treatment can help prevent infection from spreading to surrounding tissues.

4.

The tooth is restored afterward to help protect its strength and function long term.

Helpful Answers Before You Visit

Your recommendation depends on your exam and individual health. These answers are a starting point—not a diagnosis.

    • Modern root canal treatment is performed with local anesthesia. Most patients seek treatment because the tooth already hurts; the goal is to remove the source of that pain.

    • Many back teeth benefit from a crown after root canal treatment because they can become more vulnerable to fracture. Your recommendation depends on the tooth.

    • We evaluate each tooth first. If complexity or specialist care would better serve you, we will explain the referral clearly.

What to expect

A Clear, Comfortable Process

Every treatment is different, but the experience follows the same principle: understand first, explain clearly, and move forward together.

Step 1

Evaluate

We examine the tooth and use imaging as needed to understand the source of pain or infection.

Step 2

Comfort

The area is numbed and the tooth is carefully isolated before treatment begins.

Step 3

Clean & Seal

The infected or inflamed tissue inside the tooth is removed, and the space is cleaned, disinfected, and sealed.

Step 4

Restore

We plan the final restoration needed to protect the tooth and bring it back into comfortable function.
